I'm Emory Claude Morgan. I currently live in Carmichael, California with my wife Fern. I am a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel
who is at home on the water as I once was in the air. In the course of my 29-year career in the Air Force, I flew many planes,
from P-38 Fighters to B-47s and B-52 bombers. I served as navigator and command pilot.
After learning to sail my 23-foot Aquarius sailboat on Folsom Lake near Sacramento, California, I bought a 41-foot sloop which
I eventually sailed to Hawaii and then used to explore the coastlines and rivers of the U.S. and Canada. In between, I acquired
a 26-foot cabin cruiser which I used to explore the islands off the coasts of California, Washington and Canada, as well as
many of the inland waterways of the U.S. After that, I sailed aboard a 33-foot Nauticat.
Alas, my life has not always just been flying or sailing. I also ran a very successful import business in Sacramento called
"Sign of the Crab," dealing in wholesale brassware. Currently, I am "retired," although I keep busy traveling and writing
(gotta pay for those boats somehow!).

Calling All Pilots!
I was a member of the 82nd Fighter Group and keep in touch with many of my squad mates by attending reunions and swapping
e-mails. I am currently writing down my experiences during World War II, as well as my growing-up years in Texas. Many of
my Air Force friends have helped and contributed to my efforts.
Check my LINKS page for more information on the 82nd and their reunions.
