IF YOU LOVE SAILING OR JUST DAWDLING ON YOUR BOAT, YOU SHOULD FEEL RIGHT AT HOME HERE! Whether you're a salty old
sailor or just a weekend warrior, we probably have something in common. I love my sailboat! If you think that's weird, you're
in the wrong place. If you understand, read on. I started sailing in the 1970s on Folsom Lake near Sacramento,
California. It wasn't long before that lake got too small for me, so I, of course, got a larger boat and moved on to larger
"ponds." I've owned a few boats in my time. Here are just a few I can recall:
A 23-foot Aquarius fiberglass sloop A 41-foot Perry 41 sloop-rigged sailboat A 25-foot wooden
lap-strake boat A Nauticat 33 motorsailer And I made a lot of voyages on those boats. All of
them, even the bad ones, were great experiences I wouldn't have missed for the world! The challenge and freedom of boating
are too strong to be diminished by the few difficulties every boat owner experiences.
I even wrote a couple books about my experiences with boats and boating. I don't like to toot my own horn (the heck I don't!),
but I think I can say they are fun to read, especially if you are already a "boat nut," and they have some good information
on places to go boating or just great places to go, period. If you would like to see my books (and buy one, please!), go to
